Training School is proud to hold the Kennel Club's listed status, which allows us to teach the Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog scheme.

We run regular courses to promote responsible dog ownership and to educate owners about the importance of having a well trained, socialised dog. For full information about the Good Citizen Dog Scheme and what it covers, click here

We encourage reward based training with treats and praise but are aware that this approach may not work for all dogs and will advise if more assertive methods are appropriate. A standard lead and flat collar are ideal for starting. Flexi leads and harnesses are not recommended for use in training class, and we do not allow the use of full check chains.

Class sizes are restricted to 8 dogs and demand can be high so please contact us to discuss the availability of a place.

Julie and her team have worked hard to get this Club off the ground. It was originally a training club just for Rottweilers (they own three of mine!), but they were persuaded to open their doors to all breeds, and now they have a waiting list of dogs recommended to them by vets and other clubs in the area. Their enthusiasm for all dogs and their kind approach to training using positive, reward-based methods speaks for itself by the number of dogs who gain "passes" through the Kennel Club's Good Citizen dog scheme. I wish them continued success.
